Verhullen (2025)
Directed by Jesse Plum · Produced by In Orbit
Original Score: Tomek Günzel & JEANS
Verhullen offers an intimate portrait of The Hague-based artist Gino van Dam (JEANS), who confronts his turbulent past and lost loves through introspection, spirituality, and plant medicine. As he channels these experiences into his debut album MENG, the film reveals a story of resilience and transformation.
Premiered at Flora Filmtheather, The Hague
For Verhullen I collaborated closely with Gino (JEANS) to shape a score that reflects the film’s spiritual dimension while staying rooted in his electronic identity. Drawing from authentic folk instruments, which we sampled and transformed, we created a sonic world that blurs the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic. The music acts as a bridge between two realms, supporting the images as the film moves delicately between realism and surrealism.
