Kracht van Onze Handen (2024)
Directed by Onur Can Tepe · Produced by Sonodocs
Original Score: Tomek Günzel
This 50-minute documentary explores Tetterode, the former squatted complex in Amsterdam-West that became a self-governed home for artists and creative entrepreneurs. Once a symbol of the turbulent 1980s, its community now faces a new challenge: growing real estate pressure and the question of whether a new generation can secure its future.

For Kracht van Onze Handen I set out to reflect the unique spirit of each individual portrayed in the film. Every subject carries their own history, energy, and artistic language, and I wanted the score to mirror that diversity. This led to a wide musical spectrum, from meditative ambient textures to bursts of punk, from intimate jazz lines to classical-inspired passages. Rather than existing as separate pieces, these cues are interwoven throughout the documentary, creating a dialogue between contrasting worlds. The aim was to let the music echo the character of the community itself: eclectic, layered, sometimes conflicting, yet ultimately connected by a shared story.
